Very Shady Business Practices
I originally purchased Hotspot VPN on 7/26/15. I paid for the yearly elite membership through iTunes and was charged on 8/2/15. I use this app on 3 devices. About a month in I started having issues with one of my devices insisting I upgrade to elite membership. One by one my devices all gave this error. I followed instructions on their help pages to uninstall and reinstall the app and “restore” the purchase, but continually get messages that my subscription is not found (despite providing order number and information and having the original invoice). I submitted a ticket to their help desk which was marked as resolved, with no additional communication to me and no actual resolution (still does not work). Additionally, I noticed a definite difference in performance while using the VPN. This app was great - when it actually worked, but the shady business practice and lack of customer experience for paying members is enough for me to move on and try a different application.
